Origin: InterCity, Citadel
Population: 500 Million

The Mechanized are a wide assortment of different beings all clumped together into one category. Whether they are humans who slowly became machines or machines that slowly became more human. They are neither. In some cases, the machines are looked down on like less than a living being and more as a tool or appliance. It is because of this reason that many compare their struggle to that of the African Slaves. Depending on their classification, it is possible that the government does not recognize them as beings, but rather as property. Ever since The Great War, the public has had differing opinions about the robots, cyborgs and androids that walk the streets of InterCity. Many of them have family members that may have been killed by their kind.  

Androids are machines that possess all the abilities of a robot, but look very much human. They think and they feel. They were created after The Great War when the Megacorp Digi-Tech managed to capture several of CITADEL's spies alive. These spies were designed to look human and were programmed to infiltrate InterCity's defenses. Digi-Tech then went and did the unthinkable and started mass producing their own Androids.  Many were sold to syndicates, gangs and rich folk as slaves. Used for either personal protection, forced labor or prostitution. Most that fight for equal rights among the races use Uplink as an example. If they are given their free will, they can tribute greatly to society, but if the user, designer or owner programs their for nefarious purposes - this struggle will only continue.  For reason the lawful production of Androids has been outlawed, but it still happens in the dark corners or secret labs of the world.

Robots are simply that. Machines. They may have programmed personalities and traits, but there is no denying what they are. Unless they had a strange design, these robots feel no pain. Many were designed for labor or for war, but over the course of time or by outside design; were given the ability to think for themselves. These are the ones that society really fears and show their hatred against because they so resemble the mechanical monsters that attacked InterCity during The Great War those many years ago.

Cyborgs are a different breed altogether. Many are accepted by society because you have to know the full story of each one before you can judge them. A soldier wounded in war gets his limbs replaced so that he can function once again. Or a deformity corrected through the advances of science. Then again, there are those with a sickness. The ones who willingly alter their body by removing normally functioning parts and replacing them with mechanical parts to become stronger, faster, smarter or more powerful. Unless it is obvious that their advancements were not a choice, Cyborgs are met with much less resentment than the other two types of mechanized beings because they are actually humans, but how far can you go before you cross the line?

Mechanized Enchantments & Design Flaws


Not Required. But the Mechanized have the choice to choose Enhancements and Design Flaws. Which give bonuses to certain aspects of the game. But for every Enhancement, the player must also choose a Design Flaw of equal or lesser value. Some are worth 1 point, others 3. The maximum number of enhancements is 6.

Power Plus1Designed by DigiTech, Power Plus is designed to reinforce the connections muscles and joints that allow the user to perform great acts of strength with minimal effort. 
+1 to all Non-Combat Power Rolls.
EyeGasm Lenses1Originally designed by Stockton defenses. Eyegasm Lenses were simply contacts that gave the wearer the ability to sense events faster. Now it is possible to make the change permanent with an eye implant. +1 to all Non-Combat Control Rolls.
Arcane Infuser1It is well known that Mechanized Beings cannot use Arcane Magics and are immune to several non-elemental spells (illusions and such). But with this Arcane Infuser from SOR Global. Any elemental or physical spell that hits the mechanized being will be less effective if at all. Any magical attack against will have to be +16 to be successful.
Instant Upload1You can buy sticks of RAM anywhere, but having them attached to your brain makes all the difference. +1 to Tech Related Knowhow Rolls.
Dermal Shield1Whether your a metal machine or a squishy android. During your design, they wrapped a layer of Dermal Shield around your body, providing a constant layer of protecting. A powerful, paper thin kevlar Reynolds Wrap. +5 to Willpower.
Pinchers of Peril1Your designers took extra time to craft your hands. An extra layer of gears, pistons and grease allows you to make the most of an unarmed attack. +5 to Unarmed Damage. -1 to opening things stealthly.
EyeGrade1Again, built as contacts and upgraded to full ocular upgrades. You can now have either night, thermal or scoped eyes.
Spring Loaded1Your body has a /macro. Whenever you sense a battle is near, your body instantly does what is needed, so your mind doesn't have to worry about getting ready. Draw that sword or gun in a split second.
+1 to Rolling Init.
Elemental Graded1Your components have been upgraded to withstand extreme changes in temperature. You will now take 1/2 damage from environmental elemental attacks and no penalties from elemental situations (ie. walking slow through snow, fire, annoying people).
Cavity1Somewhere on your body, a cavity was created that only you can open. It can store any small item from a knife to a pistol or a grenade.  Must tell GM during quest before you do so.
Power Plus +2Power Plus+ is the upgraded version of Digitech's muscle enhancers. While the original was simply designed to reinforce the muscles. Power Plus+ is designed to accelerate them. +1 to all Power Rolls.
Eyegasm +2Whereas the Eyegasm Lenses are simple lenses that are permanently installed. The Optical Upgrade is a full ocular transplant. +1 to all Control Rolls.
Skeleton Lite2Your metal parts have been replaced with a lighter more flexible, but just as durable version. +1 to all Athletic Rolls.
Dermal Wrap2Every Level, you get a coupon for a free dermal wrap. Where you go into a Digitech facility and they spray and coat your naked body with a liquid that makes your skin tougher. +5 HP Per Level
HUD Radar2Built inside your head is a collection of sensors that can detect sound, heat and movement within a 50 foot radius around you. If anyone is approaching you without magical/technology aid; the GM must warn you via PM.
Weapon Magnet2A special magnet placed inside your weapon and another in your palm. Makes it impossible for you to be disarmed. Enemy must roll a nat 20 to disarm you.
Batter Pack2Where your heart use to lay, a nuclear fusion reactor now sits. Don't worry it's safe. Made by Stockton Defenses, this nuclear heart allows the player to never run out ammo for their energy powered weapons.
Black Widow/Lady Killer2Your frame and body were designed with the intent of selling your to a brothel. For this reason you receive a +2 to Knowhow to Attraction.
Solar Powered2All over your character's skin there are tiny solar dishes that absorb light and convert it into energy. Whenever the player is questing during the day, in direct sunlight; they will receive +1 to all Rolls and +10 to all DMG.
USB Input2Not a very good hacker? This USB Port can come from anywhere.. and we do mean anywhere. It allows the player to interface with electronic devices such as cameras or computers, without having knowledge. Roll a Level+KnowhowTech+Fate to hack a device.
Support Arm 2When using WMD's or BFG's. A support arm extends from your torso to grab onto the weapon. Allowing non-Juggernauts and non-Behemoths to use these large weapons. And if you are one of those 2 classes, you get an extra attack per round.
Blast Shield3When you are prepared to take damage. It lessens the chance of you being seriously injured. The player gives up 2 actions per round and can attack only once. The trade off is thus, you will take half damage the next round of attacks. And if you decide to protect 1 or more teammates, the threshold for you to be hit increases by 1. Meaning enemy must roll +16 to hit you.
Cloaking3
By increasing the coolant system and giving you cloaking devices. You are invisible to everything except the naked eye.
Safety Mode3Before a battle, your mind scans yourself and teammates. Rolling a Nat 1-2 will not cause self damage or damage against a teammate.


Design_Flaws:


Bad Wiring -2
You have a loose connection somewhere. Causing your muscles to flinch every now and then. -1 to Power Rolls.

System Freeze -2
You are prone to system freezes. Error Code 305. -1 to Control Rolls.

CPU Error -2
Sometimes, DATA just gets lost. -1 to Knowhow Rolls.

Command_Error -2
Walk instead of Run. Speak instead of Shutup. Sometimes you just lose control. -1 to Athletic Rolls.

Skin Job -1
Not only was the layer of skin applied to your body not the best quality. In some places you have cracked skin, but you also lose some of the small amount of protection that skin provides. -5 Willpower.

Weak Metal -1
You weren't built with the best metal, but more or less whatever they had laying around. -5 Unarmed Damage.

Eye Downgrade -2
You have poor vision at night. -1 to rolls at night or in dark places and -10 to DMG.

Broken Spring -1
Your body is always one step behind when it comes to jumping the gun on the enemy. -2 to INIT Rolls.

Elemental Downgrade -1
Your components have been ignored when it comes to withstanding extreme changes in temperature. You will now take x2 DMG from environmental elemental attacks and penalties from elemental situations (ie. walking slow through snow).

Brain Damage -2
It's not so much brain damage, but when they said they were "adding special parts", they really took some stuff out. You are now capable of only having 2 Knowhow Pools.

Machine Man -2
You are not pleasing to the eyes. Whether because you look too human, have a barbie doll effect on people, or have metal parts sticking out of your skin. Something about you is very difficult to look at. Some NPCs may ignore you. -1 to Speech Rolls with NPCs. +1 to Scaring Children. You also cannot have any points in Knowhow:Attraction.

Blind Bot 2.0 -3
They pretty much gave you a port in which objects, shapes and colors can be scanned within a certain radius. -2 to all Control Rolls.

Command_Fail -3
Whether because your metal parts weigh you down. Or you were just poorly designed. You will receive a -2 to Athletic Rolls.

Broken Parts -3 
You weren't really made from the best parts available. -2 to Power Rolls.

Radiation Leak -2
Stealthy you are not. Your body gives off a lot of heat. Your metal parts make noise. And sometimes you glow. GM Discretion.

Hackable -4
Whether it is by an enemy. Or a fellow party member. You have a WI-FI USB Port that anyone can enter and control you. Once Per Quest, a fellow party member is allowed to attempt to hack you. A little event, followed by a Knowhow:Tech Roll by both party members. If Hacker is successful, they can control you for up to five rounds. They can use you as a shield. To do something dangerous. Or just kill you and take your EPIC Gear you just found. And you won't remember a thing afterwards. However, you will earn x2 EXP for the Quest for being a good spot. Regardless if you live or not.

Missing Battery -3
Every four rounds of combat, you simply shut down for a round. Also, a GM can have you roll to avoid shutting down at random, OPC.

Power Down Plus -2
All over your character's skin there are tiny solar dishes that absorb light and convert it into energy. Yours don't work correctly.. in fact they output most of your energy to a port that doesn't exist.  Whenever the player is questing during the day, in direct sunlight; they will receive -1 to all Rolls and -10 to all DMG.

Race Traits

Level 1
Mechanized:Battle Mode - The Cyborg or Robot is able to shut down all thoughts except for what they need to use in combat. They don't care about their feelings, they don't care about having to take the life of another, they don't worry if they left the stove on, they focus on the battle in front of them. When they do this, they are able to focus and look at the battle like it was a math equation. Because of this, they are able to do twice as much damage and can withstand half as much. However, if the Cyborg/Robot happens to die during combat - they won't die. Instead they'll malfunction and attack anyone who is in their way, until they are shut down. If the fight is won why the machine is in Battle Mode. They enter cooldown mode and can be saved. Each round before a Mechanized Being makes his normal attack, they must roll Level+Willpower+Fate to remain in control. If they fail, the GM counts them as an enemy and can control them for that round.

- Once Per Quest. - For an entire fight. They can select two of the following Modes to be stuck in.
The Cyborg/Robot does critical attacks (levelx5) added to attack total.
The Cyborg/Robot gets +1 to Attack Rolls.
The Cyborg/Robot 's threshold for successful attacks drops to 14+.
The Cyborg/Robot takes half damage when attacked.

Note: If the Cyborg/Robot is killed in combat, they come back with half their Base HP and attack anyone until they are taken out for good... maybe by their own party.

Level 4
Mechanized:Accelerate - The Cyborg or Robot puts its processing speed into overdrive and is able to quickly calculate any danger coming its way and avoid it.
- Once Per Quest - Completely avoid any attack that may come your way.

Level 8 - Choose One
Mechanized:Soul Power - For some unknown reason. You awoke one morning and felt the world was different in some way. You are one of a few Mechanized Beings who have discovered the way to control the Arcane Elements that exist in this world. You also receive 20 Arcane Attribute Points and the ability to learn any Technomancy Spells. Be in the same class as Technomancer and be able to use their spells without penalty. However, you cannot use Healing Spells. You'd have to learn the Technomancy Spell - Repair.

Mechanized:Max Settings- There was once a physical limit to what the human body can do. It seems that the constant exposure to risk and the need for survival has caused a small group of humans to expand past the normal limits. Now, there is no limit to how many attribute points you can have in Power, Control or Athletic.
